Nova AI
Nova is Gadget Trade’s AI assistance experience for marketplace help, gadget questions, research and product decisions.

What Nova can help with
Nova can answer natural-language questions, explain Gadget Trade features, compare gadgets, help with product decisions, summarize information and assist with marketplace discovery. AI-generated information should be checked against the actual product listing, order details and official Gadget Trade policies.
Gadget Trade marketplace context
For marketplace questions, Nova can use approved Gadget Trade listing information such as title, model, category, price, condition, location and stock. Nova should not invent a listing, seller, price or availability.
Current and research questions
When freshness matters, such as current specifications, recent releases, public information, reviews or current prices, Nova can use live public-web research. Research results may include source links so important claims can be checked.
How Nova is powered
Nova uses a server-side AI service so provider credentials remain protected and are never exposed in browser code. Gadget Trade applies its own usage limits and product controls independently of the underlying AI service.
Nova messages and provider failures
Your Nova allowance is consumed only by successful application-level Nova responses. A temporary OpenAI rate-limit, quota or provider failure is not the same as reaching your Gadget Trade Nova allowance. When the provider is unavailable, Nova should tell you to try again rather than falsely reporting that your chats are exhausted.
Plans and research access
Nova access and daily message allowances depend on your Gadget Trade plan. Higher plans can include research and other advanced capabilities. Check Settings → Subscription for the current plan information.
Privacy and sensitive information
Do not enter passwords, one-time authentication codes, card PINs or other secrets into an AI assistant. Use the official account and support flows for sensitive account actions.
Personalised conversation context
Nova can use useful context from the current conversation to make follow-up answers more relevant. For example, if you tell Nova your budget, preferred brand or the name you want to be greeted by, it can use that context during the active interaction. Short-term conversational context is different from permanent account memory and should not be treated as a database record of everything you say.
Coding and technical help
Nova can help explain code, diagnose common implementation problems, suggest configuration steps, interpret error messages and help developers reason about Gadget Trade integrations. API keys, authentication secrets and other credentials should still be configured through the appropriate secure environment or developer settings rather than pasted into public conversations.
API and configuration guidance
Nova can explain supported API concepts, integration configuration, request structure, environment variables, authentication patterns and troubleshooting steps. It should distinguish between explaining a configuration and actually changing a production credential or server setting.
Gadget Trade status and operational questions
When the relevant status information is available to Nova, it can help explain service status, feature availability and common causes of an interruption. A status explanation is informational; important transaction or account actions should still be checked in the live Gadget Trade interface.
Quick actions and useful next steps
Nova can present concise next-step actions when they genuinely help, such as opening a product search, starting a listing, viewing subscription settings, checking documentation or continuing a relevant workflow. These actions should be contextual rather than appearing after every answer.
Comparisons and decision support
Nova can compare phones, laptops, consoles, accessories and other gadgets across factors such as price, specifications, compatibility, battery, camera, performance, condition and intended use. When a comparison depends on current prices or stock, verify the live listing before acting.

- 5Ask follow-up questions instead of starting over when the same context is still relevant.
- 6Verify important facts on the current listing or authoritative source.
Sources, freshness and verification
Nova may use approved Gadget Trade context and, where enabled, public-web research. Current information can change quickly, so source links and live listings should be checked for important decisions. Nova should make uncertainty visible instead of presenting an unverified guess as a confirmed fact.
Privacy and secure use
Do not give Nova passwords, one-time authentication codes, card PINs, CVVs, private keys or other secrets. Nova can explain how to complete a secure action, but sensitive credentials belong in the appropriate protected account, payment or developer interface.
Friendly conversation without losing precision
Nova is designed to be approachable while remaining useful. It can answer briefly when the question is simple and expand the explanation when the task is complex. Clear headings, lists, comparisons and suggested next steps can make longer answers easier to scan.
